Ottawa paramedics say a woman in her 20s is in critical condition after she was hit by a pickup truck Monday afternoon near the crosswalk at Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue.
Victim sustained 'multi-system trauma,' paramedics say
A woman in her 20s is in critical condition after she was hit by a pickup truck Monday evening near the crosswalk at Elgin Street and Laurier Avenue, paramedics say.
Paramedics said they were called to the intersection at around 5:45 p.m. and found a pedestrian who had sustained "multi-system trauma" to the chest, abdomen, and pelvis area.
She was transported to the trauma centre in critical condition.
Paramedics described the woman's injuries as serious and could not confirm whether they were life-threatening.
