What you need to know to vote in the 2025 federal election on P.E.I.

Canada's next federal election is April 28. Here's everything you need to know to cast your ballot on election day or at an advance poll on P.E.I.

Canada's next federal election is April 28. Here's everything you need to know to cast your ballot on election day or at an advance poll on P.E.I.

Who's running in your riding?

Here's a list of candidates running in each of P.E.I.'s four ridings.

Make sure you're registered

You are eligible to vote if you are a Canadian citizen and are at least 18 years old on election day.

Make sure you're registered to vote, update your address or register to vote through Elections Canada's Online Voter Registration Service. You can also call Elections Canada at 1-800-463-6868 or contact your local Elections Canada office for assistance.

Registered voters will get an information card in the mail confirming they are on the list of voters, along with details about where they should vote and a federal election guide by April 14.

If you're not already registered online, you can register at your local polling station on election day.

You'll need to prove your identity and address with a driver's licence or other ID issued by a Canadian government (federal, provincial/territorial or local) that includes a photo, name and address. A full list of accepted identification is on the Elections Canada website.

Vote early

You can vote early by special ballot at any Elections Canada office before April 22.

Here are the Elections Canada offices in P.E.I.:

  • Confederation Court Mall, Suite 240HR, Charlottetown.
  • Emerald Community Centre, Emerald.
  • County Fair Mall, Summerside.
  • The Kelvor Building, 6499 Commercial Road, Montague.

Advance polling

If you can't vote on election day, you can vote at your assigned polling station on advance voting days:

  • Friday, April 18.
  • Saturday, April 19.
  • Sunday, April 20.
  • Monday, April 21.

Vote by mail

If you are a student away from home or you're otherwise unable to vote early, you can vote by mail. Apply online or by contacting any Elections Canada office before 6 p.m. on April 22. You can find instructions here
