John Strang, accused in wife Lisa's murder in McLean, appears in court Friday

John Strang appeared calm in a brief court appearance on Friday morning. He is accused in the murder of his wife, Lisa Strang at their home in McLean, Sask., and has also been charged with uttering death threats against another woman from Rockford.

Strang appeared by video monitor Friday morning. He wore a sleeveless black shirt and stood close to the camera. His parents attended his appearance for the second day in a row. 

Strang's lawyer said he did not have a chance to speak with his client before the appearance, adding he was not seeking bail on Strang's behalf at this time. Another court appearance is scheduled for the following week.

Strang only spoke once, to respond, "Yes, sir," when the judge asked him whether he understood his lawyer's requests.

The accused is due in court again Aug 14., one day before a memorial service is planned in Regina for his late wife.
