Regina police charge 24-year-old with 1st-degree murder

Police say Aron Lunan was found dead near Grand Coulee, west of Regina, in June. Britain Volk has been charged with first-degree-murder in the death.

Regina police have charged a 24-year-old man with first-degree-murder in the death of Aron Lunan. 

The accused, Britain Volk, made his first appearance in Regina provincial court Thursday morning, according to a police news release.

The charge is connected to an investigation that began on June 10, 2025. That's when RCMP were called to a rural area near Grand Coulee, Sask., west of Regina, for reports of a dead person. 

RCMP investigation determined the death was a homicide. Police identified the deceased as 35-year-old Lunan.

Police say the case "originated" within the city of Regina, so the investigation was turned over to the Regina Police Service.
