One person is dead after being struck by a vehicle while riding an e-scooter in North York Wednesday evening, Toronto police say.

The collision, in which the motorist failed to remain at the scene, happened in the area of Codsell Avenue and Goddard Street around 9 p.m., Toronto police said on X. Roads were closed in the area Wednesday night as police investigated.

The victim, a female of unknown age, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

The suspect vehicle is described as a small, white sedan. Police are asking anyone with more information to contact them.
