Man dead after e-scooter collides with truck in Etobicoke, police say

A 56-year-old man has died in hospital after the e-scooter he was riding struck a waste disposal bin delivery truck in Etobicoke on Thursday, Toronto police say.

A 56-year-old man has died in hospital after the e-scooter he was riding struck a waste disposal bin delivery truck in Etobicoke on Thursday, Toronto police say.

The collision happened on N. Queen Street near Atomic Avenue, near The East Mall. Police were called to the scene at about 3:15 p.m.

Police say the man was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The truck driver remained at the scene.

N. Queen Street is closed between The East Mall and Shorncliffe Road as officers investigate.

Police are appealing for anyone with security or dash cam footage to come forward.
