Man dies after collision in Vaughan on Saturday, police say

A 48-year-old man has died after a collision in Vaughan on Saturday night, York Regional Police said. Officers responded to the crash near Weston and Rutherford roads around 10:20 p.m., police said.

A 48-year-old man has died after a collision in Vaughan on Saturday night, York Regional Police said. 

Officers responded to the crash near Weston and Rutherford roads around 10:20 p.m., police told CBC Toronto. 

A car hit a tree and then hit a wall, police said. They did not provide details on what caused the collision. 

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger, 44, was taken to hospital with serious injuries, police said. 

Anyone with information or dash cam footage is asked to contact police.

Weston Road is closed southbound from Astonia to Valeria boulevards, police said.
