Just over a week after three masked men walked into a Scarborough, Ont., pub and opened fire on the crowd inside, the establishment has issued a statement saying the business is co-operating with the police investigation and its "thoughts are with everyone affected."

On March 7, Piper Arms Pub, located near Scarborough Town Centre, was celebrating its opening night when three masked men walked and opened fire indiscriminately. No one was killed, but 12 people were injured. The suspects fled and remain outstanding.

On Saturday, the pub issued a statement to its Instagram account.

"We are heartbroken over what happened at our Scarborough Town Centre location on what was supposed to be a special opening night for our team and the community," the statement reads. "This kind of violence has no place in our community."

Toronto police are investigating the incident. In an email Saturday, a police spokesperson said there is still no update on the suspects or a possible motive.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford and a Toronto city councillor are condemning a mass shooting that took place at a pub in Scarborough over the weekend. CBC’s Chris Glover has the latest on the investigation — and what we know about possible connections to the city’s tow truck industry.

Local councillor Michael Thompson said earlier this week that he'd heard from constituents that the shooting was related to a tow truck industry turf war. Police and CBC Toronto have not confirmed any connection, and the pub's statement makes no mention of a motive.

CBC Toronto reached out Saturday to the email included in the pub's statement, asking for comment from ownership, but did not immediately hear back. CBC Toronto previously left messages with the pub via phone and email in the days following the shooting, but did not receive a response.
