A 65-year-old man was struck and killed by a driver in Scarborough late Saturday, Toronto police say.
The collision happened just before 10 p.m. near the corner of Eglinton Avenue E. and Torrance Road.
In a news release Sunday, police said the pedestrian was crossing Eglinton mid-block just west of Torrance when he was hit in the centre lane by a 41-year-old driver.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital, where he died a short time later. In a series of posts on X, police had said the man was in his 70s but they clarified his age in the news release.
The driver stayed at the scene, according to police.
Investigators are asking anyone with dashcam or security video of the incident to reach out.
