Toronto man arrested and charged in alleged sexual assault of 62-year-old woman in High Park
The man, 35, now faces 7 charges. Police believe there may be more victims

A Toronto man has been arrested and charged after allegedly sexually assaulting a 62-year-old woman in High Park last month, police say.
On June 4, a woman was walking on a paved pathway around 10:40 p.m. when she was dragged into a wooded area in High Park and sexually assaulted, Toronto police said Thursday. She was able to get away from the accused and had a passerby call 911, police said.
A 35-year-old man was arrested Wednesday in connection with the incident, police said.
He now faces seven charges, including sexual assault causing bodily harm, robbery and failure to comply with probation. He was scheduled to appear in court on Thursday.
"These are traumatic crimes," Supt. Andrew Ecklund told reporters Thursday. "We recognize how incredibly difficult it can be to come forward, and we're grateful to the victim in this case for her courage and her resilience."
Police believe there may be more victims, Ecklund said. Anyone with more information is asked to contact police or leave an anonymous tip with Crime Stoppers.
Police issued a public safety alert following the assault last month and said they are increasing police presence at the park.
