2 dead, multiple injured after fatal weekend on York Region roads
Police are appealing for witnesses after 3 serious collisions occurred over the weekend

Two people died and multiple other people were injured over the weekend as a result of three serious collisions on York Region roads.
Police are appealing for information in all three cases, which took place in Vaughan and the Township of King.
One person remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries after a Friday night collision at 8th Concession and 15th Sideroad, York Region police said in a release Monday.
They say the crash happened around 7:50 p.m. and involved a pickup truck and an SUV. Two people in the pickup truck were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, while the SUV driver is the person with life-threatening injuries.
A motorcyclist collided with a transit bus in Vaughan Saturday afternoon at Jane Street and Ahmadiyya Avenue, the release says.
While police say an off-duty nurse administered first aid to the motorcyclist, he died en route to the hospital. Nobody else was injured in the crash, police say, which happened minutes before 1 p.m.
The third collision took place Sunday around 2:15 p.m. at Jane Street and 16th Sideroad, east of Highway 400, according to the release.
Police say a 93‑year-old passenger suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene, while the 95‑year-old driver was seriously injured and transported to a trauma centre.
Five occupants of the other vehicle involved were taken to the local hospital, the release says.
