Police say the assault happened on Salisbury Street

Police have charged a 23-year-old St. John's man with manslaughter after officers found a man seriously injured in the city's Rabbittown neighbourhood.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is accusing Dylan Baker of assaulting a 63-year-old man on Salisbury Street early Tuesday morning.
The RNC said officers responded to the scene around 12:30 a.m. NT, where they found the man hurt. Emergency crews rushed him to hospital, where he died on Wednesday.
Baker is accused of manslaughter, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and carrying a concealed weapon.
In a news release Thursday, the RNC did not say what weapon Baker is accused of having.
The RNC is still investigating.
