Motorcyclist dies after crash on Highway 174

The man had crashed his motorcycle Wednesday on the highway's westbound lanes near Blair Road.

A man has died in hospital days after a motorcycle crash in the city's east end, Ottawa police say.

Emergency services responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 174 westbound near Blair Road at around 2:30 p.m. on July 29, police said in a press release on Wednesday.

Paramedics said the man driving the motorcycle was taken to hospital in life-threatening condition. On Friday, police said he had died.

Police said they are still investigating and are seeking witnesses to the crash, and are asking anyone who may have dashcam footage to contact their fatal collision unit.
