A motorcyclist who suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash east of Cornwall on Sunday night has died, according to the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

Emergency crews were called around 8:55 p.m. to County Road 2 between Arthur Street and Fraser Road in Summerstown, a spokesperson told CBC.

The motorcyclist, a 23-year-old man from Quebec, was found injured in a ditch. OPP said he was taken first to a local hospital and then transferred to a regional trauma centre with potentially life-threatening injuries.

Police said late Friday morning that he had died. They did not share his name.

Investigators are still trying to determine if there was any connection between the crash and a black Honda car seen driving dangerously in the area. They're asking anyone with dashcam footage from the area to contact them.
