Youth leader declares for PC nomination in Summerside-Wilmot
Summerside entrepreneur and youth mentor Jason (Lefty) Gallant joined the race of the Progressive Conservative nomination in the P.E.I. district of Summerside-Wilmot Monday.

Summerside entrepreneur and youth mentor Jason (Lefty) Gallant joined the race of the Progressive Conservative nomination in the P.E.I. district of Summerside-Wilmot Monday.
Gallant is the fourth person to declare. He joins former cabinet minister Philip Brown, Summerside Coun. Norma McColeman, and Brian Ramsay, the candidate in the 2015 provincial election.
Gallant is the young leaders coordinator at the Youth Engagement Centre at the Summerside Boys & Girls Club. Gallant has also been a volunteer coach for two decades for numerous sports, including hockey and baseball.
The nomination convention is scheduled for Sept. 12 at the Wilmot Community Centre. No date has yet been set for the byelection.
