Windsor police say a 13-year-old boy has been charged after allegedly pointing a firearm at a woman in a Walkerville park.

Police responded to a call about a person with a weapon at Langlois Avenue at Giles Avenue East at about 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release issued Tuesday by the Windsor Police Service.

They say a woman pulled into the parking lot at a park when she saw several people inside a silver Chrysler 300.

One of the passengers then reportedly reached into the vehicle's centre console, pulled out a handgun and pointed it at the woman, police said.

The vehicle then left the area, No physical injuries were reported.

Police say the 13-year-old suspect turned himself in at London Police Service headquarters and was transferred into the custody of Windsor police.

He has been charged with assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon.

The firearm has not been recovered, and police say they don't know whether it was real or an imitation. The investigation is ongoing.
