One man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was stabbed outside a warehouse party in South Vancouver Friday night.

It happened a little before midnight on East Kent Avenue N near Borden Street.

Bloody clothes and evidence markers could be seen scattered around the street in the light industrial area near the Knight Street Bridge.

Vancouver police could be seen interviewing and photographing a crowd of party-goers in a nearby parking lot.

One of the revellers said they were at a party in a seemingly abandoned warehouse, where people were celebrating two birthdays.

She said there were noises that sounded like "fake gunshots" leading up to the stabbing.

Forensics investigators could be seen poring over the crime scene for several hours.

Police said nobody had been arrested, early Saturday morning.
