C.B.S. man dies following collision on Pitts Memorial Drive

A 40-year-old man driving a motorcycle died after a motor vehicle collision in St. John's Tuesday morning.

A 40-year-old man is dead following a collision on Pitts Memorial Drive in St. John's Tuesday morning. 

The man from Conception Bay South was driving a 2003 white and blue Suzuki motorcycle, which collided with a 2006 black Dodge Charger. The motorcyclist was taken to hospital with serious injuries and was pronounced dead soon after.

The RNC says patrol officers and collision analysts responded to the event around 8:45 a.m., eastbound on Pitts Memorial Drive, just east of Robert E. Howlett Memorial Drive. Police also told CBC News that there was a man on the scene believed to be an occupant of the Dodge Charger.

Police are investigating the fatal collision and are asking the public for any video footage or information connected to the vehicles.
