RCMP say the motorcyclist was a 65-year-old man from Three Fathom Harbour

A 65-year-old motorcyclist from Three Fathom Harbour, N.S., has died in a crash in Lawrencetown, Halifax County.

RCMP say the man was heading west on Lawrencetown Road around 12:10 p.m. AT on Monday when the motorcycle collided with an Econoline van travelling south on Gammon Lake Road.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, while the driver of the van, a 59-year-old man from Westphal, was not injured.

RCMP, fire crews and paramedics were on scene, and Lawrencetown Road was closed for several hours.
