Multi-vehicle crash shuts down part of Highway 104

Nova Scotia RCMP say first responders were called to the scene near Westchester Mountain at 11:45 a.m. AT Monday. The crash involved a tractor-trailer and three vehicles. Police expect a section of the highway to remain closed for several hours.

A multi-vehicle crash has shut down down part of Highway 104 in Cumberland County, N.S., on Monday.

Nova Scotia RCMP said first responders were alerted to the collision involving a tractor-trailer and three vehicles near Westchester Mountain at 11:45 a.m. AT.

Police said the highway was closed at Exit 8 eastbound as a result. That section of the highway is expected to remain closed for another several hours, police told CBC News in an email at 3:28 p.m.

RCMP said there are injuries, but haven't disclosed specifics.
