Scooter rider killed in crash near Trenton

A 36-year-old man riding a sit-down scooter was struck and killed near the south end of Stockdale Road in Quinte West on Tuesday night, according to police.

A 36-year-old man riding a sit-down scooter was struck and killed near the south end of Stockdale Road in Quinte West on Tuesday night, according to Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).

In a news release Thursday, OPP said they were called to the scene of the crash around 10:30 p.m. It happened between Miron and Lock roads and the Telephone Road roundabout, police said.

Police did not name the victim, who died in hospital. They said the investigation continues.

The scene is about four kilometres northwest of the mouth of the Trent River and 18 kilometres west of downtown Belleville.
